Constance Williams was born and schooled in Somerset, England, near the city of Bath, where she majored in advanced art. She now resides in Asheville, North Carolina, in the US and is a full time artist. Currently, she finds herself focusing on two mediums, sculptural hand built clay and encaustic painting. She took her first clay workshop January of 2006 at the Odyssey Center of Ceramic Art, Asheville, NC., and now has a studio in the River District Arts, Asheville, NC., where you will find her handbuilding figures, vessels and wall installations. Her encaustic painting (beeswax, damar tree resin & pigments), is an extension of the way she manipulates her clay surfaces, probing subtracting and layering. She began encaustic painting in January of 2007.
Her painting studio & gallery downstairs is accompanied by working ceramic studios upstairs.
Open to the public Every Day 11 AM - 4 PM.
